Frequently Asked Questions

Are air fryer mushrooms healthy?

In fact, these pop-able snacks are on the healthier side. Egg and a bit of olive oil are the only binders here, and this air fryer mushrooms recipe does not need any extra spray oil. Hooray!

Do you have to cook mushrooms before frying?

Nope! Dredge the raw mushrooms in the egg mixture and breadcrumbs, then let the air fryer do all of the cooking.

How do you get breading to stick in an air fryer?

The initial egg and oil coating is necessary for a thick, crispy breading that sticks to the mushrooms.

Can you save fried mushrooms?

They taste best when freshly made. However, breaded and fried mushrooms will keep well for up to a day or so. Transfer to an airtight container and keep in the fridge.

What is the best way to reheat breaded fried mushrooms?

I highly recommend that you briefly reheat them in the air fryer to get that glorious crunch back. Alternatively, you heat them on a baking sheet for 10 minutes in a 350-degree oven.
