Mediterranean Gyro Sauce

If you could define the Mediterranean region by taste, how would you describe it?

Just think of that bright blue water, picturesque white architecture contrasted against the shadowy mountains, blue doors at every corner, evil eye trinkets in every window, and lots of colorful and delicious fresh cuisine.

If we had to depict the whole of the Mediterranean by flavor, we would include tzatziki sauce dolloped inside a lamb gyro, and a salad topped with fresh feta and drizzled in olive oil straight from the vineyard.

  3. This elevates all my mediterranean recipes and just tastes so lovely

  4. Followed recipes for the Gyros and the Tzatziki Sauce. The instructions were great but for me the zest of one lemon and tablespoon of lemon juice was too much for 1 cup of Yogurt. The next day I added a tiny bit of sugar and mint to cut the tartness so that I could eat the Gyros once again. It was much better. I know that in authentic Tzatziki Sauce, a vinegar or red wine vinegar is used in a recipe of 2 cups of Yogurt. Probably 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice would have been enough.
