How to Make Crispy Asparagus in the Air Fryer

Preheat an air fryer to 400°F.

Hold a piece of asparagus near the bottom and snap off the end of the asparagus to know where the tough section begins. Then trim off the ends of the whole bunch to match the first piece. (This ensures you don’t have a tough fibrous last bite!)

Place the spears on a baking sheet.

Hand pouring melted butter on a stack of raw asparagus.

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter garlic powder salt, and cayenne pepper. Toss the asparagus with the garlic butter mixture and coat well, so it is fully seasoned on all sides.

Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket. If the asparagus is thin, set the timer to 4 minutes. 5 minutes for average-sized asparagus. 6-7 minutes for fat asparagus.

Air fry the asparagus just long enough to be bright green and tender, but do not overcook. They should still have a bit of firmness to them.
