So, What is Aioli?

One of the most popular questions when it comes to aioli is: What is the difference between mayonnaise and aioli?

Mayonnaise is a common condiment made by combining oil, egg yolks, and lemon juice or vinegar.

Aioli is essentially an elevated mayo that is dressed up with additional flavor. In fact, mayonnaise is the base of aioli. Bursting with bold lemon zest, minced garlic, and fresh herbs, our (Magic) Aioli Sauce Recipe elevates your favorite basic mayo up several notches on the deliciousness scale.

  4. Delicious!  My husband had been a professional chef and even he raves about this.  I used anchovy paste, which makes this go together even quicker.

  5. No, I haven’t yet as I just printed it out. My review odd for your website actually and I wanted to share my thoughts. Your website is amazing. It’s fun and cheerful in a sweet and subtle way. But my favorite thing is the printing section. Within that area is a servings button (1st tone I’ve seen a servings button at all) that allows you to change the number of servings. Just that alone was a cool surprise. What i hadn’t noticed at first is that when you change the servings the ingredient amnt in the recipe adjusts for you. OMGOODNESS I DON’T HAVE TO DO ANY MATH WITH RECIPES FROM THIS SITE. THANK YOU..YOU ARE ALL GENIUSES!!! THANK YOU for thinking of the little things that make a huge difference.

  6. This condiment truly is magic! So tasty!

  7. Long before I found your blog and all your great recipes I tried to make some myself. So I tried and failed the taste test for about an hour, didn’t like the other recipes I found…there was just something missing. Then it dawned on me……fish sauce….bingo it worked! I cook a lot of Thai and Asian food because my husband and love it so. Had some in the fridge. Now I know why the difference….you used anchovies which are very similar to fish sauce…..so yes anchovies are a must to get that flavor right. Thank you for all your great recipes which I have often used

  8. Oh my gosh! I just love aioli and I can’t wait to make it for myself. I have some anchovies in the fridge so this perfect!!
