Orange Clove Hot Toddy
Erin’s with us today bringing a bright festive hot-tail for the weekend! The Orange Clove Hot Toddy is warming and zippy, a beverage you’ll will love sipping around the fireplace this year.
A note from Erin…
ORANGE CLOVE HOT TODDY
Every holiday season my family keeps bowls filled with clove-studded oranges all over the house. The smell is something I crave when it gets cold, and I tried to replicate that with this warm, rich orange clove hot toddy.
Orange Clove Hot Toddy
Ingredients
- 2 ounces aged rum
- 1 ounce fresh squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 ounce clove syrup (see recipe below)
Instructions
- For clove syrup: In a saucepan combine 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of water, and 8 whole cloves. Place pot over medium heat and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Once the syrup has cooled completely, remove the cloves.
- Combine all ingredients in a heatproof mug. Add hot water to fill up the glass, and stir.
