Vodka Gummy Bears Popsicles
Vodka Gummy Bears Popsicles: Fun and GROWN UP alcoholic popsicles! Layered into sparkling freezer pops these gummy bears are almost too good to be true. And of course, we’ve made a kiddie version as well!
Vodka Gummy Bears
So… I have this friend, and she’s a bad influence.
No. No, let me start again. I have this friend, and she’s a GENIUS. She was telling me about her experience with Vodka Gummy Bears, and how they are all the rage right now.
I rolled my eyes. I scowled at the vulgarity of such an idea. I mean why waste good vodka? Why waste good gummy bears, for that matter?
…And then the idea of vodka soaked gummy bears started coming together in the form of intense curiosity.
Vodka Gummy Bears Popsicles
So, of course, I had to try them, those devilish little teddy tempters. And guess what?
They are pretty amazing. Not just for crazy college kids either… For moms who need a TGIF moment after a long week.
So that same friend I mentioned? She thought it might be a good idea to put Vodka Gummy Bears into freezer pops.
And I agreed.
So here you have it. The simplest (and most fun) cocktail pop recipe ever.
How to Make Vodka Gummy Bears
- Simply pour the vodka in a bowl.
- Add the gummy bears, cover, and allow them to soak for 24-72 hours.
The longer the gummy bears soak, the more alcohol they absorb. They also grow in size!
How to Make Alcoholic Popsicles
Once the gummy bears have soaked to your liking, stir to separate them.
Then strain one-third of them out of the vodka and place in the bottom of 10 popsicle molds.
Freezing Popsicles
Pour Sprite over the gummy bears until just covered, about one-third full. Then place in the freezer for 60-90 minutes.
Once the first layer is frozen, add the popsicle sticks and add a second layer of strained gummy bears and soda. Freeze again and repeat a third time. The total layering/freezing process should take around 4+ hours.
Then take them out of their molds and enjoy them in the hot summer sun!!!
Perfect for Parties
The light clear soda allows the fruity flavor of the alcohol-soaked gummy bears to shine through. Plus, using a sparkling beverage means some of the carbonation bubbles freeze in place, for a lively effervescent look and texture.
These pops are so much fun for weekend parties! Just imagine your friends sitting around on the deck slurping (and chewing) on these fizzy gummy boozy summertime treats. Perfection!
Kid Friendly Popsicles
Of course, we couldn’t make these popsicles without making a kiddie version. These two would never allow mom and dad to be the only ones eating frozen gummy bear treats.
Just omit the vodka and the whole soaking process, then freeze in layers so the gummy bears are evenly distributed throughout.
Soda Combos
We used Sprite, orange soda, and grape soda to make the kiddie pops. I’ll admit, the color hides the gummy bears a little, but offers big BIG flavor. Plus just like the grown-up popsicles, that frozen carbonated fizz looks and tastes amazing.
Feel free to experiment with your kid’s favorite soda drinks. My only recommendation would be to keep it fruity, to best compliment the gummy bears. So no colas.
My kids loved them and so will yours!
