Ready for this weekend’s cocktail? We’ve got a great twist on an old favorite, a Rosemary Old Fashioned.

ROSEMARY OLD FASHIONED
Old Fashioned are always great for sipping on in the colder months.
This variation, the Rosemary Old Fashioned, uses rosemary to provide a nice herbaceous note and orange bitters to round out the drink.
Rosemary Manhattan Cocktail?
You can also use this recipe to make a brilliant Rosemary Manhattan. Simply muddle the fresh rosemary with 1/4 ounce of sweet vermouth.
Then leave the rosemary sprig in the glass, stir in the whiskey and bitter, and add a cherry!
Rosemary Old Fashioned
The Rosemary Old Fashioned uses rosemary to provide a nice herbaceous note and orange bitters to round out this classic drink.
Servings: 1 drink
Ingredients
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 1/4 ounce rosemary syrup see recipe below
- 2 dashes orange bitters I like to use Regan’s
Instructions
- To make the rosemary syrup, combine equal parts water and sugar in a pot. Add several sprigs of fresh rosemary. Heat mixture until just barely simmering and remove from heat. Let the syrup steep for 10 minutes, and then remove the rosemary.
- In a rocks glass combine the whiskey, rosemary syrup, and orange bitters. Add ice and stil to chill the drink. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and an orange peel.
