How to Make Mexican Chamoy Candy

Pro Tip: You know the candies are ready to toss in the sugar when they are mostly dry, but still slightly tacky to the touch.
- Working in small batches, toss the tacky gummy candies in the sugar and Tajin mixture. Repeat with the remaining gummy candies.

- While this recipe is fabulous with all kinds of fruity gummy candies, I do not recommend using sour gummies. They’re just not a great combo with the sweet sugar and spicy Tajin seasoning, in my opinion. But hey – you certainly can give it a try if you’re feeling adventerous!
- Let the sauced-up gummies dry for about an hour but don’t overdo it… If they dry for too long they’ll lose the stickiness necessary to keep the sugar and Tajin seasoning stuck to the candy.
- Package generous handfuls of dulces enchilados in cellophane bags tied with bows or in small glass jars and give as gifts. They’re fun party favors, gifts for teachers, and Halloween treats.

- 1 pound gummy candy any variety
- 2 tablespoons chamoy sauce store-bought or homemade
- 4 tablespoons Tajin chile-lime seasoning
- ยฝ cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Set out a mixing bowl. Add the gummy candies to the bowl, followed by the Chamoy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of Tajin seasoning. Stir the gummy candies well to completely coat the candy in Chamoy sauce.
- Move the gummy candies to a drying rack and allow them to dry for 1+ hours.
- Meanwhile set out a small mixing bowl and combine the granulated sugar and remaining 2 tablespoons of Tajin seasoning. Mix well.
- When the gummy candies are dry enough to be just tacky, not wet, dust them in the granulated sugar mixture. Work in small batches, to make sure there is room in the bowl to toss the gummy candies in the sugar. Repeat with the remaining gummy candies.
- Place the finished Chamoy candies in a candy bowl, or place in a Ziploc bag to store for later.
- The candies will last for 1 to 2 weeks at room temperature, longer in a very dry climate.
