And, considering that we tend to make a lot of these slushy beverages throughout the season, we thought we should make a cold treat that is delicious and healthy.
This super simple and light Watermelon Smoothie recipe requires only 2 ingredients and ice! We use fresh watermelon plus strawberry yogurt for a creamy consistency and perfectly sweet fruity taste. It’s great for making low-calorie smoothies with no added sugar that adults and kids will love!

Ingredients You Need
- Fresh ripe watermelon cubes – check out our guide for how to pick a watermelon and cut it into cubes!
- Strawberry yogurt – regular or dairy-free
Plus ice for a thick and frosty blended Watermelon Smoothie.
Also, sugar is optional depending on how sweet your fresh watermelon is. If you select a good watermelon in season, you shouldn’t need it.
How to Make a Watermelon Smoothie in 3 Easy Steps
First, make sure to get out all of the dark brown seeds from the watermelon cubes. The little white seeds are fine left in. (Buy a seedless watermelon to make it easy!) Then place the watermelon cubes and yogurt in the blender.
Cover and puree until smooth. Taste to determine if sugar is needed.
Lastly, add the ice cubes (and sugar if desired). Then cover and puree until smooth.

Pour into four glasses and garnish. Serve immediately while the smoothie is ice cold.
