Smores In The Oven
Smores in the Oven โ Make a large batch of sโmores in minutes, without a campfire! Simply layer graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows, and broil in the oven until toasted and melty! This indoor s’mores recipe is a fun simple treat for parties and events.

Why We Love This Perfect Sheet Pan S’mores Recipe
For some reason, we only make sโmores when we go to the lake or beach. Why is that?
It is not from a lack of fire pits at home or a shortage of marshmallow roasting sticks. There is not an issue with hunting down the sophisticated ingredients used for making sโmores.
Why do we save this simple, yet utterly divine, treat for camping and beach trips?
I have no idea. And better yet, I think we need to stop the madness. This magical dessert shouldnโt just be served as โdestination smoresโ.
Yes, itโs fun to roast marshmallows over an open campfire and press them between graham crackers out of doors. Yet if you are really craving sโmores you can make them right in your ovenโฆ In 2 minutes. With less mess.
Todayโs โS’mores in the Ovenโ recipe is a perfect large-batch treat for parties and movie nights.
You can make this recipe any time of the year, without frost-bitten toes or mosquito bites. No sticks required!
Ingredients You Need
Easy Sheet Pan Sโmores taste amazing straight out of the oven but are also divine hours later. So you can make them ahead of an event if you like.
- Graham Crackers – use gluten-free graham crackers for gluten-free s’mores!
- Marshmallows – the big ones!
- Hersheyโs Chocolate Bars – this is the classic chocolate used for s’mores.
At the bottom of this post, we are sharing a revved-up version of this recipe if you want to โspiceโ things up a little bit!
How to Make A Baked S’mores
Turn the oven on broil and then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Break all the graham crackers and chocolate into squares, to prepare for building the smores.
Place 20 graham cracker halves on the sheet pan (or as many as you want to make.)
Place the chocolate on top of the graham crackers and then top each piece of chocolate with a marshmallow.
Place the sheet pan on the center rack of the oven and broil the smores for about 1 to 2 minutes. (Make sure to keep your eyes on this while they are in the oven. The marshmallows can burn very easily!)
Once the marshmallows are at the toastiness level you like, remove them from the oven and press another graham cracker square on top of each marshmallow to squeeze them all together.
Enjoy your smores from the oven!
Tips & Tricks
- Make sure to place the marshmallow on top of the chocolate, so it gets perfectly toasty under the broiler!
- Keep a close eye on the s’mores in the oven! Since they are directly under the broiler, they can burn easily! Take them out as soon as they are golden brown and bubbly!
- These easy oven-baked s’mores sandwiches are best served when they are warm and melty! If you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Then, rewarm them in the oven or air fryer before eating!

Recipe worked great. I’m not really a s’mores person and I thought they were good. A couple of notes for others:
1. My broiler only had HI and LOW settings. I used HI for 2 minutes and it worked like a charm.
2. I placed the top graham cracker under the bottom one while it heated up with the rest of the s’more, then put it on top afterward so that all of it was warm.
cAn u put in littke baggies after cool for a bake sale next day?
Hi Karen,
Sure you can – great idea!
your comment on the smore recipes was very funny
So easy and so delicious! The chocolate does get melted, obviously, while in the broiler compared to adding a chunk or two of Hershey’s after the marshmallow has melted from the bonfire. Melty ooooey gooey goodness!
Really easy and man it’s good ๐
Sorry if this has already been asked, but what temperature do you set it on for the broiler? Our oven makes us choose a broil temperature
Hi Christy!
500 degrees F is the standard broiler temperature on those that don’t give you an option. I would stick with that. :)
Hi how do you store them for later use
Hi Gabrielle,
You can place them in a zip bag and store at room temperature for 3-4 days. However, the s’mores are much better fresh.
My grandson says it was super, super, super good, and the rest of the family agrees.
Kid approved-
Fast and not as messy without the campfire smell. Great for when you canโt get a fire to start outside.
Is that an 8th of a Hershey bar? That’s unsettling..
I have some semi-sweet chips I need t use up – since the heating is being done on a flat surface in the controlled environment of the oven, do you think the chips would melt properly for these smores??
Also, what caramel sauce do you suggest for the Ritz cracker version?
Thanks so much!! :)
Hi Deborah,
Sure, you can use chocolate chips! As for caramel sauce, it’s truly a matter of preference. You can pick something thin to drizzle or the thick kind to spread on the top cracker.
