This golden sweet buttery goodness is so incredibly smooth, creamy, and light, yet is packed with luxurious flavor. It’s a fantastic addition to biscuits, muffins, English muffins… Pretty much any baked good!

Our classic simple recipe takes only 5 minutes to whip up, and consists of just 3 ingredientsโ€ฆ Butter, honey, and salt. However, you can oomph it up by adding all sorts of herbs and spices. (We’ve got some great suggestions for easy optional add-ins below!)

We highly recommend that you make a batch of honey butter ahead of time to keep in the fridge at all times. Then pull it out to make any simple snack seem special!

  • Butter – unsalted, softened to room temperature
  • Honey – choose a variety that is pure, but also pourable
  • Salt – a smidge to balance the sweet honey

How to Make Whipped Honey Butter

  1. First, set the butter out for 30-60 minutes so that it softens at room temperature. (This makes it way easier to whip with an electric hand mixer!) Then place the butter, honey, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

  1. Beat on high with an electric mixer until the honey and butter blend together and become very smooth and fluffy. This takes about 3 minutes, so be patient!

  1. Next, scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Beat again for several seconds to make sure there are no clumps.

If you are adding extra herbs or spices, now is the time to beat them into the butter.
